As a programmer, you will need at least 8GB RAM with an SSD hard disk as the minimum hardware. In recent years, AMD Ryzen processors have outperformed their Intel counterparts and delivered more value for money.
First choice (recommended): Lenovo V15. Second choice (looks promising): Acer Aspire Lite
An external monitor with a minimum 1080p resolution alongside your laptop helps double up on-screen real estate and improve developer productivity.

An adjustable laptop stand helps achieve better ergonomics by matching the height difference between the laptop and the external monitor.

Consider overhead headphones for comfort during long coding sessions and online meetings. In-ear headphones that ship with mobile phones might cause interfacing issues with your laptop (particularly when used with Linux OS).

CELLBELL C103 is a slightly modified version of the Amazon Basics low back chair. I had three of them (Amazon Basics). They had decent back support and can tell they are worth the money. Unfortunately, you cannot buy the Amazon Basics version anymore.
