Attention to detail

It's just a children's storybook. Or so I thought, as I began reading it to my two-year-old daughter. It was one of those colourful, full-page illustrated books with very little text, letting kids absorb as much story as visually possible.

The story was about sharing one's toys with others. It starts with a tiger that doesn't share its toys and ends in a way that most adults expect it to.

I could see my daughter fully immersed in the images, listening to me carefully as I flipped through the pages. As I finished the last page, I turned to her and said she has to share her toys with her friends who come home every day.

And, almost instantly, she replied, "Tiger didn't share his favourite toy - the rocking horse. He shared something else - the football."

Product-building lesson of the day: Pay attention to detail. Otherwise, you might end up selling the wrong message to your users/customers.
